Ask the person to authorize the exact fiscal document version in the signed-in app. A professional prepares and files included returns after authorization; AI does not file alone. # WhatsApp tasks for Agents

> Invite-only Agents workflow for requesting Claude Code work from WhatsApp.

<Info>Melso Agents is available only internally or by private invitation. Agents-specific features require existing access. For the autónomo fiscal service, see [Get started](/essentials/quickstart).</Info>

The steps below apply with an **invited Agents company selected**. Its **Settings → My agent** page includes WhatsApp linking; this connection does not enable fiscal tools in an Agents company. For the autónomo fiscal service, use [WhatsApp with Melso](/essentials/whatsapp).

No WhatsApp flow approves, files or pays a fiscal return. Fiscal authorization requires the exact saved version in the authenticated app, followed by professional review and filing as described in [Approvals and filing](/essentials/approvals). Approval of a repository change is separate from fiscal authorization.

You can message Melso on WhatsApp and ask it to start a Task using Claude Code.
Melso coordinates the work, Claude Code runs it in a cloud sandbox, and the
Melso assistant brings the result back to your conversation. The Task keeps a
record you can open and review on the web.

This connects WhatsApp to **Melso's assistant**. It does not turn your WhatsApp
account into a direct chat with Claude, connect a local Claude Code terminal,
or give an agent access to your other WhatsApp conversations.

## Before you start

You need a Melso account, access to an invited Agents company, and WhatsApp. Claude Code
must be available for your account: model execution can use Melso credits
(`gateway`), an enabled Anthropic API key (`api_key`), or your own connected
Claude Code account (`account`). Check **Settings → AI providers** and the
[provider account guide](/concepts/provider-accounts) if execution is unavailable.

For work that needs a repository or an app, connect that resource in Melso and
allow it in the Task's [Area](/concepts/areas-resources). Linking WhatsApp does not grant access to other
accounts or repositories.

## Link WhatsApp to your company

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your company">
    [Open Melso](https://app.melso.ai/login), sign in and select your invited Agents company.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect WhatsApp">
    Open **Settings → My agent** and choose **Connect WhatsApp**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the link message">
    Choose **Open WhatsApp** and send the prepared message, or send `link YOUR_CODE` with the code shown in Settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    Check that **Settings → My agent** shows **Connected**, then describe the work in the same WhatsApp conversation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Each chat account links to one company. Check the company shown on the
connection before sending company work. You can move or disconnect the
connection in **Settings → My agent**. If a link code expires, choose
**Connect WhatsApp** again to generate a new one.

## Ask for a Claude Code task

Name Claude Code explicitly when that is the agent you want. For example:

> Use Claude Code to review the README in our connected repository. Prepare a
> clearer setup section and show me the proposed changes. Do not publish them.

Do not send a request such as “Use this password to access a repository I have not connected.” Connect the resource with its owner's permission and use [Secrets](/concepts/vault) when a credential is needed; never paste it into chat.

Melso checks the available execution options and starts the Task when the
required access and funding are available. A request to use Claude Code does
not itself confirm that a Run started: check the Task and its execution
status. If Melso reports missing access or provider capacity, resolve that
before retrying.

You can send follow-up instructions in the conversation, answer questions
that block the work, and open the Task on the web to inspect its output.
Review the proposed changes before approving publication or a merge.

## What this connection can do

| Your intent | How Melso handles it |
| - | - |
| Request work from WhatsApp | The Melso assistant can create and follow a Task. |
| Use Claude Code for that work | A Task Run uses Claude Code when it is available and selected. |
| Read a repository or use a business app | Access depends on your connected resources and the Task's Area permissions. |
| Read all of your WhatsApp chats | Linking your chat does not provide this access. |
| Connect a local MCP client | Use the separate [MCP setup](/mcp/connect). |

## If the workflow stops

* **No connected chat:** finish sending the link message and check Settings
  for the connection status.
* **Wrong company:** move the connection to the intended company in Settings
  before requesting more work.
* **Claude Code unavailable:** check **Settings → AI providers** for funding,
  account access, or a provider limit. Linking WhatsApp does not bypass these
  requirements.
* **A Task needs input:** answer its question in the conversation or open the
  Task on the web. Activity alone does not mean the work is complete.

For programmatic task creation instead of chat, use the
[API quickstart](/api-reference/quickstart).
