Melso Agents is available only internally or by private invitation. Agents-specific features require existing access. For the autónomo fiscal service, see Get started.
Five steps to install the Melso CLI and connect your computer as a local runtime. You need: a Melso account, and Node.js with npm for step 3.
A local runtime executes Task code on your computer. Anyone who controls that computer can inspect its files and processes, including data used by a Run. Grant teammate access only when you trust both the work they will run and the computer owner.

1. Install

On macOS and Linux:
On Windows, in PowerShell:
Open a new terminal and check that it works:

2. Sign in

A browser window opens. The Melso account you sign in with becomes the owner of this computer.

3. Install the agents

This installs the supported Codex, Claude, and Pi packages under your Melso profile. Existing installations and their configuration are left unchanged.

4. Start the worker

Leave this terminal open. Closing it takes the computer offline.

5. Check it in Melso

Open Settings → Computers. Your computer appears under its hostname, labelled Yours. It can take up to 30 seconds to show as Online. To use it, open the Run on menu in the Task composer and pick your computer.

Good to know

  • Pi: always uses Melso credits; it does not use a connected subscription account.
  • AI accounts: Tasks use the accounts connected in Settings → AI providers. You do not need to sign in to Claude or Codex on the computer. See Provider accounts.
  • Updates: the worker updates itself when no Run is active. To update by hand, run melso update. Updating does not upgrade Codex, Claude, or Pi; run melso worker local setup again for that.
  • Older install: if you installed the CLI before automatic updates, run melso update once.
